Dad-o-Matic was founded by Chris Brogan. The project is simple: build a place for dads to share thoughts and ideas about parenting. This can be views, news, reviews, and advice. You don’t have to be a dad to participate. I just wanted to blog from a Dad’s perspective.
As a geek and a dad, my primary website is built to educate people about technology and practices around it. I needed a place for us to just be dads, so I built Dad-o-Matic. A full bio of me is here.
Launching authors include:
We have three goals on three different levels:
1.) Provide great content for dads (well, okay, moms too).
2.) Prove that a community blog content project can grow and become valuable.
3.) Deliver this as the first of several niche sites that show how to harness great voices to giving meaningful information.
You might notice that there are ads here. My long term goal is to be able to give out beer money for folks’ efforts. We’ll see how that goes. It’s a side project in understanding how advertising does or doesn’t perform on a blog.
Dad-o-Matic is a place for dads to share thoughts, post reviews, talk about parenting and what it takes to be a dad. We skew a bit towards the geeky type of dads here, but all parents are welcome. Because we review things here, we should be very clear and transparent.
Everything we review is something we’ve tried out ourselves, and our review is based on our own personal opinion, good and bad. If someone gives us something for free to review, we’ll disclose this information. If the product or service is something we recommend, we will provide links for you to check it out for yourself.
Those links might or might not be affiliate links (meaning we might or might not make a couple dollars if you buy something, too). If we review something and don’t recommend it, we might provide links to the product or service, but these will never be affiliate links. It doesn’t seem like a good policy to make a couple bucks off something we don’t recommend.
